Coach and Ozzy Join Survivor Season 24 Premier

Survivor: South Pacific premiered last night on CBS, launching Season 24 of the best Reality TV game show. Returning were two veteran players, Oscar ′Ozzy′ Lusth and Ben ′Coach′ Wade. Both are on their third try to win the game of Survivor. Jeff Probst introduced them to the two tribes of new players, each with eight members. They began with a Heroes-Only Challenge, where Ozzy and Coach battled for extra food and flint to help make a fire. Ozzy won for his tribe, Savaii, which had given him a warm welcome. But the Coach got a cool reception from his tribe, Upolu. Coach Ben Wade, pictured above, and Ozzy Lusth return as veterans to season 24 of Survivor: South Pacific. Much to my chagrin, I’ve been battling back the symptoms of a cold for the past few days and, for the most part, I’ve been able to keep the worse of them at bay … but yesterday was not a good day, let me tell you. I woke up with the worst body aches but, thankfully, free from a sore throat or any stomach ailments. I did my best to keep myself as medicated as possible with Dayquil by day and the magical nectar of the gods, Nyquil by night:

I’m still not feeling great today but I do not feel worse than I did yesterday so I’ll take that as progress. I’m hoping to be well enough to go out tonight … David and I are invited to some event at the Frank Lloyd Wright house here in LA so we were hoping to check that out. The rest of the week ahead is a bizzy one and then I’m flying back home to Detroit next week … so I really don’t have time for any flu shenanigans. It is almost the last day of November already, can you believe it? I hope your Monday is going well and that the December to come will be a fabulous one for us all :)

In what is likely the must unsurprising news you’ll hear all day long, singer Willie Nelson got arrested in Texas last night on marijuana possession charges. The offending substance was found by a border patrol agent who smelled the loco weed inside Willie‘s tour bus … a subsequent search uncovered the marijuana and Willie got taken into custody:

A U.S. Border Patrol spokesman says country singer Willie Nelson was charged with marijuana possession after 6 ounces was found aboard his tour bus in Texas. Patrol spokesman Bill Brooks says the bus pulled into the Sierra Blanca, Texas, checkpoint about 9 a.m. Friday. Brooks says an officer smelled pot when a door was opened and a search turned up marijuana. Brooks says the Hudspeth County sheriff was contacted and Nelson was among three people arrested. Sheriff Arvin West didn’t immediately return a phone message left at his home Friday, but he told the El Paso Times that Nelson claimed the marijuana was his. The singer was held briefly a $2,500 bond before being released.

It is very common knowledge that Willie Nelson is a staunch supporter of the legalization of marijuana who often and very openly discusses his use of the controlled substance. I’m actually very impressed that Willie decided to man up and admit that the marijuana was his when he could’ve very easily had someone else take the blame. At this point in his career, I highly doubt that Willie Nelson is worried about what an arrest for marijuana possession charge might mean professionally … in fact, as an advocate for the legalization of marijuana, he may likely regard this bust as a badge of honor. Whatever the case may be, homeboy got busted for getting caught.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen the Simpson-Wentz family out and about together so it’s nice to see them all together as a family unit:

Judging by the small number of bags and that big poinsettia plant, my guess is that they were shopping for a larger Thanksgiving dinner with the rest of the Simpson family … tho, I suppose it’s possible that Ashlee and Pete are planning a quieter and smaller Thanksgiving dinner for just their little family. Whatever the case may be, I surely hope they have a fun Thanksgiving together.
